Join the Massachusetts Region in person or on Zoom for a talk on "Austen's London" by Elizabeth Porter, assistant professor of English and coordinator of Women's and Gender Studies at Hostos Community College, City University of New York.
Juxtaposing a selection of Austen’s letters with London-based scenes from some of her major novels, this presentation considers the varied functions of the metropolis in her fiction, as well as the important role the city played in her life as an author.
Tickets are $10 for JASNA members and $15 for nonmembers. The in-person component will be followed by refreshments Mr. Woodhouse would disapprove of.
